Who We Are:

Circus Flora is St. Louis’ very own theater company under a Big Top that excels in the magic of combining a traditional European circus with modern theater techniques. The organization’s mission is “to bring joy, delight, and laughter to life through the magic of circus.” Founded in 1986, Circus Flora is a vibrant part of the performing arts community in greater St. Louis and beyond.

The Project:

Circus Flora strongly believes that circus is an art form that should be welcoming to all to enjoy and experience. In addition to having a fully accessible Big Top and special performances for individuals with food allergies, Circus Flora leads a year-round therapeutic clowning program in two children’s hospitals and other outreach programs for underserved families and children. Now, we’d like to create a live performance unlike any other offered in the metro region. Circus Flora needs your support to create a sensory friendly performance for those with autism and other developmental disabilities. By removing uncomfortable stimuli and the stigma of public reaction, this special performance will allow everyone to enjoy the magic of circus in an inviting and judgment-free space.
