AcroSports is a non-profit organization whose mission is to teach and develop the physical, performing, and circus arts. We commit ourselves to serving our community in a safe, positive environment, offering activities that encourage teamwork and build strengths and self-esteem, and enhancing life’s experience.
Founded in 1993, AcroSports, a nonprofit corporation, is located in the landmark Poly Gym across from San Francisco’s Kezar Stadium – parts of the old Polytechnic High School saved by the community to become centers for recreation, learning, and sports.
With volunteer labor, high spirits, and community support, AcroSports staff, families and friends turned the East gym from an abandoned pigeon roost into an approximately 10,000 square foot facility with full gymnastics equipment and circus rigging along with supporting office, exercise, and art space.
AcroSports is run by a volunteer Board of Directors, staffed by professionals, and supported by parents, students, and friends. AcroSports is determined to offer the best coaching staff by attracting and training talented individuals in acrobatics, gymnastics, dance, and the circus arts. We are committed to working safely, appropriately, and effectively with each of our students.
AcroSports serves over 9,000 children and adults each year in ongoing programs at all levels of experience and ability. AcroSports reaches out to the community, working with schools, various city programs, and other non-profit organizations. We are committed to providing the AcroSports experience to students of all economic backgrounds by offering scholarships to those who qualify
